I like spending time with my kids one-on-one. It sure is a HUGE difference than when they are together pestering and arguing.
Roman and I decided to go play together a few weeks ago.
First we hit Lucy's pizza in Orem. I told you about this place before. Currently it is my favorite pizza joint. Too bad it's far away and not inexpensive. But they don't disappoint.
After that we headed down to Riverwoods mall. We went to Provo Beach Resort to play some laser tag. It wasn't very busy when we first got there, so Roman spent some time on the ropes course while we waited for things to pick up a little.
After that, we played a couple rounds of laser tag. It has been a long time since I played laser tag.
It was a good time.
This weekend it was Marisa's turn. I asked her what she would like to do and she came up with hiking. It was actually cold outside (we've had an incredibly warm winter so far) but we decided to go anyway. Marisa has wanted to hike up to the Y on the mountain for some time and the weather really was perfect.
It's a steep hike on the face of the mountain so it's pretty miserable if it's hot out.
There was a snow storm to the north and one to the south but the sun was shining where we were. We didn't even need our jackets.
Marisa was an excellent hiker. She has fantastic endurance. She was pretty proud of herself too. She said about half way up, "Mom, I feel like the strongest girl in the world!"
Once we got to the top and stopped moving, we quickly felt cold and had to bundle up a little.
On the way down we headed up the path to bottom part of the Y. Just as we were almost there we heard a WHOOSH! I looked up and coming right for us was a paraglider! He flew within a few feet of us as he headed down the side of the mountain. His buddy came right behind him. They must have taken off from the top of the mountain. Super cool.
We got back to the car just as the wind started picking up and those ominous clouds to the north got close.
After we made it down we headed to Subway for dinner.
It was a nice little date and so fun to spend time with my girly.
Ezra spends every morning with me, but we'll probably figure out something to do together that is a little more exciting than laundry and cleaning toilets. :)
