Backpacking The Uintas

The youth in our ward went backpacking for youth conference and I was invited to go along.

It was a great time and it was fun to be with the youth again. Roman had fun making signs for the latecomers.

I was surprised at how difficult the hike was. I was pretty tired and Roman was wondering why on earth anyone would do this for fun.

The girls collapsed the tent on him and Jaden because they wouldn't come out.

Despite the difficulty, I love it. I love the challenge and the beautiful scenery.

We fished, and caught, and ate, YUM!

We played games

Then we went home. Nice blurry picture of the group. Darn!

I loved it. Roman still talks about it like someone punched him in the face.

Shadow Mountain

Marisa went to 5th grade camp in June. I was a little worried because we weren't sure who would be in the same session as her.

However, my worries melted away when we showed up at the bus and I heard someone yell "Marisa!" and give her a big hug. She hung out with Luc most of the time and they were good for each other.

 

So, I sent her off on her first trip away from home without any relatives.

She had a great time. She did say there was too much free time. She left happy and came home dirty and happy so it was a win! I'm glad that she got to go.

 

On to sixth grade! Yikes!

The Rest of Art City Days

For the rest of Art City Days, we went to the balloon festival and the parade which Grandma and Grandpa also attended.

 

 

 

 

 

 

There was lots of candy and sun to be had at the parade.

 

 

 

Saturday night we went over to the Arts Park for a Jimmy Buffet/Beach Boys tribute concert and some fireworks. It was a nice night.

That Sunday, Roman was ordained a Teacher at church.

 

I love summer. So much fun to be had.
