Art Royalty

Marisa decided to try a few new things this spring. She tried out for the ballroom team and made it and she tried out for Art Royalty and made that as well.

Art Royalty is a scholarship/resume builder. She helps with children's programs at the art museum and volunteers lot of hours and she gets to add it to her resume, gets a little tiny scholarship and wears a cute crown as well. It's good. I'm glad she is doing it.

Her friend Meili is doing it too which makes it all the better for her.

Congrats Marisa!

Prom

Marisa went to prom this year with a friend.

She initially said she didn't want to go to prom so she didn't want to worry about getting a dress but we went to a local sale anyway just in case. I'm glad we did. She found 3 good dresses that she can use for upcoming dances. The best part that they were all under $20 each.

Fast forward a few weeks and she was asked and she already had a dress. Even better, it fit her like a glove and I didn't have to do anything to it. LOVE!

They went to an escape room for their day date, Olive Garden for dinner and the dance was at UVU.

They are so cute!

Seventeen

Marisa turned 17 this April. Seventeen really is the best year. You're old enough to drive and be independent but not yet old enough to be "grown up" I hope she enjoys it.

She didn't want to do much. We just went and got ice cream at Cold Stone which was delicious.

Time goes too fast! Happy Birthday Girl Friend!

Easter...Late

Since we were in Missouri for Easter, we had a little egg hunt a week later at home. We wouldn't want the kids to be without exuberant amounts of candy.

I keep thinking that they won't be interested in hunting eggs, but every year they say they want it.

Manti Temple Open House

The day after we got home from spring break, we got back in the car and headed down to the Manti temple open house.  We knew the line was going to be long, even for reservations, but I didn't think it was going to be as long as it was. The wind was frustrating too but I think we had the warmest day we could have hoped for.

I'm pretty sure we were in line for two hours. Ugh! I also didn't realize that it was going to look pretty much like it used to.

Regardless, It was beautiful.
